Valentines Day Massacre – estimates are shot to pieces as eZs3 hits 23.5 million !

Here’s 23,438319 reasons to rely on www.eZs3.com

A month back, when I reported our stats I announced that eZs3.com had successfully distributed 10 million files for our user community… I and wondered what the picture would be like in a month.

I estimated that we would add another 6 to 8 million downloads to our stats, which would have lifted us up to 18 million.

Well, we smashed through 23 million and we’re still going strong :-)

You simply can’t protect your videos from pirates and thieves – but you can turn it to your advantage!

Using video is rapidly becoming essential to online communications. Whether marketing, presenting, training or demonstrating – video is the ultimate resource.

However, many people worry about the security of their material. It might be copied. Stolen. Sold on.

Yes. It is easy for those who know what they are doing to steal video. And audio. And any other copywrite material uploaded to the internet. In fact, multi-million dollar filmakers in Hollywood, international broadcast TV companies and record labels can’t stop the looters.

So stop wasting your time trying to prevent it!

In most cases the odds are against it. The chances of your material being targetted by these ‘uber geeks’ is slim. Seriously!

Instead of spending time and energy and money trying to protect your material from pirates and thieves, include a bug/logo/watermark on your videos, including your URL …so if someone does steal your content, there’s always a link to drive traffic back to your site and the original material

Another strategy we’ve used in the past, is to actively encourage viewers to get involved in the protection of your videos. Since you run a niche site, you can be pretty sure from time to time viewers will look for source materials elsewhere. Actively let them know that if they see one of your videos on another site, you’ll give them a reward.

It doesn’t really cost you anything, but you effectively develop your own police force for your content!

And if you have the energy, you can then take action against the offending site.

Amazon S3 users and Camtasia 6 owners, now have Mpeg4 (MP4 M4V) player at eZs3

Following requests from our user community, eZs3 is pleased to be able to add MPeg4 to the player choices available. This makes 9 player options in total at eZs3 (not counting Video and Audio JukeBokes!)

Mpeg4 players introduced to eZs3

Also known as M4V and sometimes MP4, this file format is growing in popularity on the net, was based on Apple’s Quicktime Format.

Recently, screencast software specialists, Techsmith launched version 6 of their Camatasia suite and changed file output from FLV to MP4.

Now, with a little help from eZs3, Camtasia users can host and play their screencast presentations from their Amazon S3 account.

Video editors, who want more control over their player skins might want to  output in Mpeg4 (M4V)  – instead of WMV or MOV – and try the new player at eZs3
